ZAFOD and DRW held a consultative meeting with DPOs and Persons with Disabilities on the development and submission of an alternative report on the implementation of the UNCRPD.
Zambia Federation of Disability Organisations (ZAFOD) and Disability Rights Watch (DRW ), who are secretariat and chair of the Disability Rights Independent Monitoring Team (DRIMT), respectively held a consultative workshop with Kabwe Disability Persons Organisations (DPOs) and Persons with Disabilities(PWDs).
Held on 8th December 2017, the consultative workshop was on the development and submission of an alternative report on the implementation of the UNCRPD by the state.
The participants at the DRIMT workshop effectively contributed to the process by raising concerns and giving recommendations in accordance with Article 33 paragraph 3 of the UNCRPD where civil society, especially organisations of persons with disabilities should participate in the implementation and monitoring of the implementation of the UNCRPD.
